David Bowie Lodger out-take print.
Bowie collaborated with British pop artist Derek Boshier on the cover design for the ‘Lodger’ album.
Duffy was enlisted as the photographer and the original gatefold album sleeve featured a full-length shot of Bowie as an accident victim, heavily made up with an apparently broken nose.
This is an alternative version of the gatefold image.
In 1979 Duffy walked away from the world of photography and took the extreme step of burning his own work in the yard of his studio.
Much of his work was destroyed.
The prints available on this site are taken from the negatives that were saved.
In conjunction with the Duffy Archive we present this official Giclee estate stamped print, produced by the Duffy Archive.
