David Bowie Ashes to Ashes clown outfit print.


Taken by legendary 60s photographer Brian Duffy as part of the Scary Monsters album cover shoot.

Costume designed by Natasha Korniloff. Bowie had asked her to make him ‘the most beautiful clown in the circus’.

Bowie wore the costume in the video for the single ‘Ashes to Ashes’. It was, at the time (1980), the most expensive pop music video ever made, costing £250,000.

In conjunction with the Duffy Archive we present this official Giclee estate stamped print, produced by the Duffy Archive.

Arguably one of the most iconic image of Bowie, this print is available in two sizes ready mounted in a black acid free mount.

Colour prints are produced on Archival Pigment Ink Fuji Baryte Gloss heavyweight 320gm paper, which has a higher saturation and a much longer archival lifespan than the traditional C-Type papers and have been rated at approximately a hundred years in the light without fading.
